This was the very first post on the original SPEN10 blog, published April 26, 2019. The full original was lost when the old site went offline — only its opening survived — so this version was rewritten in October 2026.

The original post opened like this:

Let me be the first to welcome you to SPEN10! First off, I would like to provide a little background about myself, SPEN10 and what I do.

So, let me do that again — seven years later.

Then: where SPEN10 started

My name is Spencer. Back in 2019, SPEN10 was the start of my journey into building things online. I'd spent years as a computer nerd who loved video games, and I'd decided I wanted to build something of my own instead of only consuming things.

That first version of SPEN10 was all about the things I was learning as I went: how to pick a niche and business model, how to plan and launch, which ecommerce platforms worked best, and how to use sales funnels, email marketing and social media to actually get customers. Over time it grew into a web design business.

A lot of those early posts are still here on the blog, lightly refreshed. They're a snapshot of where I was back then — and a lot of the fundamentals still hold up.

Now: SPEN10 today

A lot has changed since then. The biggest change? AI.

Today I use AI for just about everything: brainstorming ideas, learning new skills, writing code, designing, researching and solving problems. It's turned ideas that used to seem completely out of reach into real projects — including LimitKeep, an app I built with the help of AI.

So SPEN10 now focuses on building apps and websites with AI, experimenting with new tools, and sharing what I learn along the way. You'll find:

• Resources — the tools I actually use and recommend.
• Apps — the things I've built.
• The blog — new articles, plus the classics from the original SPEN10.
