Privacy Policy

Effective

This policy explains what SPEN10 ("SPEN10", "we", "us") collects when you visit spen10.com, why, who processes it for us, and how you can have it deleted. SPEN10 is a free resource of guides, articles and tool recommendations for building websites and apps with AI.

The short version: the only personal information we ask for is your email address, and only if you choose to subscribe. We don't run analytics or advertising trackers, we count clicks on affiliate links without cookies or stored IP addresses, and we never sell your data.

1. Information we collect

  • Email signups. If you subscribe, we store your email address, which signup form you used (for example, the home page or a specific post), and when you signed up.
  • Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply.
  • Technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider automatically processes basic request information — such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested — to deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse. We don't use this to identify or profile you.
  • Affiliate link clicks. When you click an affiliate link (one that goes through spen10.com/go/), we record a click. See section 4 for exactly what's stored.

Signup forms include a hidden field that helps us filter out spam bots. It isn't shown to people and isn't stored.

2. How we use it

  • To send you the guides, articles and updates you subscribed to.
  • To reply to your messages.
  • To operate, secure and improve the website.
  • To see which tool recommendations people find useful, from affiliate link click counts.

We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

3. Cookies & local storage

SPEN10 doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage so it's remembered on your next visit; it never leaves your device. The only cookies we set are sign-in cookies for the site administrator. Affiliate link clicks are counted without cookies. Sites you visit through an affiliate link may set their own cookies (see below).

Some links to products and tools are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy something after clicking — at no extra cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure for how they work and how they're marked.

Affiliate links go through spen10.com/go/ first, which sends you on to the other site and records the click. For each click we store:

  • which link was clicked, the page it was on and where on the page (for example, a tool card);
  • the referring page and the country your request came from, as reported by our hosting provider;
  • your browser's user-agent string, used to filter out bots;
  • a one-way hash of your IP address combined with a secret value that changes every day. We use it to ignore repeat clicks and count unique visitors per day. We never store your IP address itself, and the hash can't be linked back to you or across days.

Click records aren't linked to your email address or any other information about you, and they aren't shared with anyone. We may pass a short label such as the page name to the affiliate network so we can see which pages lead to sign-ups; it never contains personal information.

Once you arrive on the other site, that company and its affiliate network (such as Impact or PartnerStack) may set their own cookies to record that the visit came from us. Their privacy policies apply to anything you do there. We don't receive your personal information from affiliate partners — at most, reports of clicks and sales.

5. Who processes your data

These providers process data on our behalf, only to run the website:

  • Supabase — database that stores email signups and affiliate click records, encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Vercel — website hosting.
  • Cloudflare — domain name (DNS) services.

If we start sending email newsletters through an email delivery service, we'll add it to this list before your address is shared with it.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to help you. Affiliate click records contain no direct personal information and are kept as long as they're useful for comparing recommendations over time.

7. Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by emailing support@spen10.com. You can also ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Depending on where you live — for example, under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or California privacy law — you may have additional rights, and we'll honor them. We'll respond within 30 days.

8. Children

SPEN10 isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has subscribed, contact us and we'll delete it.

9. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to stored email addresses is restricted to the site administrator by database-level security rules. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

10. Links to other sites

Guides, posts and the resource directory link to other websites, including apps we build such as LimitKeep and SPEN10 Mail. Each has its own privacy policy, which applies when you visit it.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site or emailed to subscribers.
