Affiliate Disclosure
Effective
SPEN10 is free to read, and I'd like to keep it that way. One of the ways the site pays for itself is affiliate links. Here's how they work.
Some links on SPEN10 are affiliate links. If you sign up or buy through one, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
1. What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a link to a product or service that tells the company you came from SPEN10. If you then sign up for a paid plan or make a purchase, the company may pay SPEN10 a commission. You pay the same price either way, and sometimes an affiliate link comes with a discount or extra credits that you wouldn't get otherwise.
Affiliate programs are usually run through networks such as Impact and PartnerStack, or directly by the company that makes the tool.
2. How you can spot them
- Affiliate links on SPEN10 go through an address that starts with
spen10.com/go/before sending you to the other site. - Tool cards in the resource directory and tool boxes in guides that use an affiliate link carry an "Affiliate" tag.
- Posts and guides that contain affiliate links say so in the post.
- Affiliate links are marked
rel="sponsored"in the page code, as search engines ask.
Some older posts from the original SPEN10 blog, marked "From the Archive", still contain affiliate links from programs I belonged to back then. Those programs may have ended.
3. How tools are chosen
I only recommend tools I've used or tested, or that I'd point a friend to. Whether a tool has an affiliate program doesn't decide whether it's on the site, where it appears, or what I say about it. Plenty of the tools I recommend, such as Supabase, pay nothing at all, and they're listed the same way. No company pays for a placement or a review, and no one gets to approve what I write about them.
If a tool I've recommended stops being a good choice, I'll update the post or take it down, even if it has an affiliate link.
4. What happens when you click
When you click an affiliate link, SPEN10 records the click without cookies and without storing your IP address, so I can see which recommendations people find useful. The company you land on may set its own cookies to remember that you came from SPEN10. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
5. Questions
